That time
of year is again upon us, when we must ask our community for their support.
This is difficult for us to do in a time when everyone is facing escalating
costs in their daily lives. However, as you know, the Clifford Township
Volunteer Fire Company relies on fundraising and donations for over 80%
our yearly budget. Just as you are facing ever increasing expenses, we
are as well. It now costs us nearly $300 each time we fill up a truck
with fuel.
 |
From its inception,
the Clifford Fire Company has prided itself with good fiscal awareness.
Now more than ever with the economy as it is, the Fire Company Board of
Directors and members continue to emphasize fiscal responsibility.
One example of this is our new Quint. In an effort to consolidate
equipment while still maintaining the highest level of service, we consolidated
two trucks into one, to better service our community while reducing operating
and maintenance costs. |
The truck is called
a Quint- which is a ladder truck and fire engine in one. In addition,
the Fire Company was fortunate to receive a grant to purchase a new tanker.
This truck should arrive in the summer of 2008. Again, we have been fortunate
to receive grant funding, but the everyday operating costs, building expenses,
and equipment maintenance, make it difficult for us as volunteers to raise
funds while spending countless hours responding to calls as well as training.
Any financial assistance you can offer would be greatly appreciated.

One of our greatest
challenges is the declining number of volunteers. We invite you to become
a volunteer, whether you can offer administrative help or you want to be
a firefighter or emergency responder, we need help of all varieties.
Monthly meetings are held on the first Thursday evening of every month
at 8:00pm. In addition to the monthly meeting, a work night is held
every Monday evening from 7:00-9:30pm. Please join us and see the
satisfaction you can gain from volunteering. For more information
